DATE: October 8th, 2023

MESSAGE BY: Jerry Marshall

Sermon Overview:

Romans 12:1–3 (NASB) 1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, accept- able to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be trans- formed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. 3 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judg- ment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

Romans 6:13–14 (NASB) 13 and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (NASB) 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

2 Corinthians 5:14–15 (NASB) 14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

James 4:4 (NASB) 4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

1 John 2:15 (NASB) 15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him Romans 12:1-3, reveals the essential components for total devotion, or complete commitment to Christ. These critical elements are the natural expression of our reflection of the grace and mercy we have received from the Lord
